The Indigenous Young Women: Speaking Our Truths, Building Our Strengths National Advisory Board, Carrying Our Roots to Empowerment (CORE), and the Kahnawake Youth Forum are looking for booths and volunteers for Leading Together: Gathering our Teachings for the Next Seven Generations, which will be held on Sunday, February 23rd from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Karonhianonhnha School Gym. We are looking for booths that promote and encourage the traditional teachings of the Kanien’kehá:ka (songs, planting, beadwork, traditional medicine etc). The purpose of this event is to provide a creative and interactive space for Kahnawà:ke youth and their families to learn and teach each other our stories, our teachings, and our practices. Each station should involve informational and/or hands-on approaches to sharing your knowledge. We will be working with you to help you prepare your booth and support your teaching.
